Through an advanced thermal process, it gains a strength 3-5 times that of conventional glass. This process heats the glass to 620°C, followed by immediate cooling, which crafts a surface compressive stress layer alongside an internal tensile stress layer. These layers significantly bolster the glass's impact resistance and thermal stability, enabling it to withstand temperature variations of up to 200°C. In the unlikely event of breakage, it shatters into small, non-sharp, honeycomb-like particles that minimize injury risk. This remarkable glass is prevalent in curtain walls, doors, windows, partitions, and furniture. However, once tempered, it cannot be re-cut. With a minimal spontaneous breakage risk of approximately 0.3%, often due to nickel sulfide impurities, laminated processing effectively mitigates this issue.
