This process involves heating the glass to a precise temperature of 620°C and then rapidly cooling it. This creates a unique surface compressive stress layer and an internal tensile stress layer, significantly boosting its impact resistance and thermal stability. Remarkably, it can withstand temperature differences of up to 200°C. If broken, it shatters into honeycomb-like blunt-angled particles, minimizing injury risks. Although it cannot be re-cut post-tempering, it is ideally suited for curtain walls, doors/windows, partitions, and furniture. While there's a minimal 0.3% risk of spontaneous breakage, often due to nickel sulfide impurities, lamination processes effectively mitigate this risk.
