When broken, it shatters into honeycomb-like, blunt-angled particles, greatly minimizing injury risks. This glass finds extensive use in curtain walls, doors, windows, partitions, and furniture. However, post-tempering, it cannot be re-cut. Though it carries a minor spontaneous breakage risk of about 0.3%, often due to nickel sulfide inclusions, this is effectively mitigated by laminating processes.
