The manufacturing process involves heating the glass to an astounding 620°C, followed by swift cooling, forming a dual-layer of surface compressive stress and internal tensile stress. This unique composition elevates its impact resistance and thermal stability, enabling it to endure temperature fluctuations up to 200°C. Upon breaking, it shatters into honeycomb-like, blunt particles, minimizing injury risks. This exceptional glass finds widespread use in curtain walls, doors/windows, partitions, and furniture, though it is non-recuttable post-tempering. A minor risk of spontaneous breakage exists at about 0.3%, often due to nickel sulfide impurities, which can be significantly reduced via lamination.
