Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically made of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) or Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA), between its two or more layers of glass. The glass layers are bonded to the interlayer(s) through a process of heat and pressure in an autoclave.
Triple Laminated Glass (or 3-ply laminated glass) is a high-performance variant consisting of three layers of glass and two interlayers. This structure significantly enhances its performance characteristics compared to standard double-ply (2 glass + 1 interlayer) laminated glass.

Improved Energy Efficiency: While primarily for sound and safety, it can be combined with Low-E coatings and argon gas fills in an insulating glass unit (IGU) to create a highly efficient window system that minimizes heat transfer.

A "triple laminated" unit can be configured in different ways for specific needs:
Standard Triple Laminate: 3 x Glass Sheets + 2 x PVB/EVA Interlayers.
Laminated Insulating Glass Unit (IGU): A triple laminate pane can be used as the inner or outer leaf of a double-glazed insulating unit, which is then filled with argon gas for thermal insulation. This creates a window with exceptional acoustic, thermal, and safety properties.
Combination with Other Glass Types: The individual glass plies can be made of different materials:
Heat-Strengthened or Fully Tempered Glass: For added strength and thermal resistance.
Annealed Glass: For easier cutting and processing if needed.
