The meticulous production involves heating glass to a precise 620°C, followed by brisk cooling, forming a surface compressive stress layer coupled with an internal tensile stress layer. This configuration significantly enhances its impact resistance and thermal stability, enabling it to withstand remarkable temperature variations up to 200°C. In the rare event of breakage, it shatters into small, blunt-angled particles resembling a honeycomb structure, thereby minimizing injury risk. Its widespread application spans curtain walls, doors, windows, partitions, and furniture. Post-tempering, re-cutting is not possible. Despite a marginal spontaneous breakage risk of about 0.3%, often instigated by nickel sulfide impurities, this risk is expertly mitigated through the laminated process.
